The news at the moment has been discussing some disturbing topics but also highlighting some interesting opinions. As a woman I can’t say that I am especially surprised at the actions of certain high profile men, as a woman, I have been experiencing various levels of objectification my entire life. The thing that is interesting me the most is the reaction that some people have to it.   I am in no way a PC activist I get frustrated sometimes with people taking offence for others whilst not truly understanding why, nor in fact even taking offence, but feeling like...

CURSE OF THE THREENAGER

CURSE OF THE THREENAGER

I have yet another threenager in my house. I felt smug that my kids appeared to bypass the dreaded ‘terrible twos’ that everyone talks about, I naively thought that that was the worst stage as everyone talks about it so much. I feel at a loss, I feel compelled to try to understand, to know why, to gain any sense of reason from an unreasonable action. I am yet to find it and my 5 year old son, who is so attune to this kind of thing, questions me all the time about bad people why they are bad, why do they do what they do, how do you spot a baddie? As a mother I can not answer him honestly,...

Today I have achieved a win!!

Today I have achieved a win!!

Today I achieved an exceptional win in the battle that is parenting! I got my 5 year old to let me use the shower to rinse his hair!     This might seem like a pitiful win, but for me this is up there with the greatest! I felt a real achievement when I finally, after months of badgering, was able to use a hairdryer to dry his hair after a bath. The daily battle of hair washing is real, any parent will tell you, the excuses to not wash ones hair gets more ridiculous as time passes, the screams...
